Medlock Ames is a fine wine producer located in Alexander Valley in Sonoma County. Started in 1998 by friends Chris James and Ames Morison, this winery produces wines from 100% estate grown fruit.

Their vineyards are farmed organically with no insecticides, chemical fertilizers or herbicides out of respect for the land and their customers. As an added green benefit, solar power provides the energy they need. This Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blend is produced from grapes grown in their Bell Mountain Vineyard in the Alexander Valley. This cooler site allows for more hang time which intensifies the flavors while the warm afternoons add ripening. This combination develops those intense aromatics, cassis and blackberry flavors with a hint of cocoa on the finish, while still preserving the bright freshness of this blend. This wine also exhibits the characteristic Bell Mountain spice along with ripe tannins and good acidity on the very lengthy finish. - Jeff Prather
