We have developed a wine under our special label that has never before been produced. This is an unorthodox blend of two white grapes that simply have never been blended before, a delicious combination of Gruner Veltliner and Pinot Gris.
Tell me more . . .
After tasting some samples of potential wines available from Tangent Winery that we liked on their own, we decided we liked them even better together. When we asked if we could blend the two, the nice folks at Tangent said, "Why not!" That's exactly what we thought. We spent a lovely day with winemaker Christian Roguenant and the Niven family putting together this blend. We wanted to call it Gruner Gris, but legal folks in the government office had some issues with that name, so we decided to call it Paragon Cuvee, since it comes from the Paragon Vineyard in Edna Valley. The Gruner has bright acidity and lively, citrus flavors that dovetail nicely with the melon flavors of the Pinot Gris. Together they are superb and seamless, vibrant and refreshing. We hope you like this whacky blend as much as we do. - Jeff Prather
