Arneis is a wonderfully complex white grape of the Piedmont region in northern Italy, but it is rarely grown outside of that country. Dick and Nancy Ponzi's winery is one of three producers of Arneis in the United States and the only one in Oregon. They decided to plant this unusual grape in 1991 after returning from visiting their good friends, the Currado Family of the Vietti Winery in Barolo.
