This little, red 'brother' of Brunello often has similar characteristics, always a bit more fresh and showy as it's usually born from younger vines. This one from Banfi has brilliant color and shows clean, red fruits with great structure and body.

This is Sean Thackery's twenty-second vintage of the Pleiades. It is a unique blend of Sangiovese, Viognier, Pinot Noir, Syrah, and Mourvedre - all sourced from old vines in Bolinas. It has a floral perfume and a round, robust palate with flavors of black cherry and currant. The jammy fruit character is balanced with smooth tannins and ample acidity. The wine finishes clean with lingering notes of vanilla and spice. A terrific value and a delicious wine to be paired with many types of cuisine!
