Cooper Mountain was founded in 1978 when Dr. Robert Gross and his wife, Corrine, planted their first Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines on their property in North Willamette Valley between the Columbia Gorge and the Chehalem Mountains. They sold their fruit for years to others until 1987 when they built their own winery and released the first Cooper Mountain wines. Today they have 120 acres of vines planted to Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Tocai Friulano, all of which are certified organic and farmed biodynamically. This is the new vintage of their delicious Pinot Gris which is always one of the better ones from Oregon.
