Peter Rosback founded Sineann in 1994 with his friend, David O'Reilly. David eventually left to start Owen Roe where he spends all his time making great Oregon and Washington state wines. Peter is a trip - kind of a mad scientist type with his long red hair and intense personality. At Sineann he makes many, many different wines, almost all of which are single vineyard designated. He started with Pinot and is probably most famous for that, producing 10 different bottlings but also makes Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Gruner Veltliner, Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand and Gewurztraminer. This 2013 from the Resonance Vineyard in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA, was fermented in stainless steel. Peter describes it as follows, "The wine, while possessing a rich mouth feel and strongly varietal aromatics now, will increase in texture and intensity over its first year in the bottle. The wine possesses the remarkable quality of being so intense, one can still sense a lingering aftertaste even after sampling other wines. Unfortunately, this will be the last Resonance Gewurz. ever produced. The vines were grafted over to Pinot noir...." It is perfect for Thanksgiving!
