This is fairly typical ripe Chardonnay from the Santa Lucia Highlands near Monterey. The nose has plenty of ripe fruit and some oak spiciness while the flavors are round, rich and loaded with bright yellow apple wrapped around a core bright acidity. There is a light oak richness on the finish giving hints of caramel and cream yet the wine remains subtle and clean. - Jeff Prather

One sip of this classically styled white wine from older vines in the Macon region of Burgundy reveals volumes of what Chardonnay can be like from this area. It is clean, unadorned with oak. Beautifully light yellow in color, it has a lovely bouquet, bursting with tart apple fruit flavors. This is a classic Chardonnay from one of the veteran wineries in the Central Coast region. Sourced from their estate vineyards, these Chardonnay grapes exhibit bright acidity and elegant flavors that are the hallmark of Talley's wines, thanks largely to the judicious use of oak. This is a lovely example of a Grand Cru Champagne with rich, toasty flavors in the mouth highlighted by beautiful yeasty aromas and almond flavor. The texture is creamy with small delicate bubbles that clean the palate and ready the tongue for the next sip. This is absolutely delicious, easy to drink, and a relatively good value considering the high quality. This sumptuous bubbly proves that you don't have to take a loan out to enjoy a fine champagne.
