Spring Whites Sale!
Don’t worry. We’re not trying to sell you some sheets, but we thought we would offer two pairs of remarkable white wines we recently tasted that brought the promise of Spring to our palates. These whites have happy, delightful flavors that put a little sunshine in our day and we thought you might be able to use some too.
As a special offer we are delighted to give you 10% off any of the four wines, but if you buy one of the pairs we will increase that discount to 15%, if you purchase all four wines we will make it a whopping 20% discount to show you how much we like these wines.
The French set is a pair of Premier Cru white Burgundies that surprised us by how well they are aging. It is always a joy to sip white Burgundy, but when it has developed that extra layer of complexity from some bottle age it brings so much more to the table. These two are great examples of the thrill an older white can give the palate.
The Italian set is another pair of whites that, in contrast, are young, fresh, floral, and refreshing with lots of bright flavors right up front. These vibrant wines are a lovely complement to the more mature French whites. They are exotic and complex with flavors that are hard to find outside of Italy. Both are made from rare and unusual grapes. Here are the four wines we are excited about:

2005 Jean Marc Morey Beaune Greves 1er Cru, Burgundy, France
Retail Price: $55
Web Special Price: $49.50
There is really great fruit on this older white Burgundy, showing a freshness not expected on a white wine from 2005. Made by a reputable producer, this wine is still youthful with plenty of acidity.
2006 Henri Prudhon Saint Aubin, Les Castets 1er Cru, Burgundy, France
Retail Price: $34
Web Special Price: $30.60
This wine has wonderful, complex flavors and a depth that we don’t come across often. The creamy, almond flavors and added dimensions from age are balanced by ample acidity that surprises the palate on the finish.

2010 Bisson Bianchetta Genovese “U Pastine,” Golfo del Tigullio, Liguria, Italy
Retail Price: $24
Web Special Price: $21.60
Now this one is a mouthful, both in the name and the flavor of the wine. The nose is wonderfully floral with a generous amount of honeysuckle and a hint of salt sea air. The palate is racy with citrus flavors and brilliant acidity. The wine has lovely balance, stony minerals, and a clean, refreshing finish. It is made from a rare grape, Bianchetta Genovese, planted on the terraced hillsides of the Ligurian coast. “U Pastine” means extra special gift in the Ligurian dialect and that is what Pierluigi Lugano has provided in this immensely satisfying Italian white wine.
2009 Ciro Picariello Fiano di Avellino, Campania, Italy
Retail Price: $25
Web Special Price: $22.50
This wine is a true delight for the palate with floral notes on the nose and flavors of almond, minerals, melons, and beeswax. The wine is very complex while maintaining a subtle style that does not overpower you, but rather bathes the tongue in wave after wave of pleasing flavors. It finishes with wonderful structure and a clean, lingering impression. This is a truly wonderful experience that brought a smile to all our faces.
