Sommelier Brendan Tierney Presents Merry Edwards!

Join us Wednesday, May 22nd, from 4:30-7:30pm, when we welcome Brendan Tierney, Estate Sommelier at Merry Edwards Winery, to our Wine Bar.  Brendan is a certified sommelier who has recently joined the winery to oversee the proper service and enjoyment of the Merry Edwards wines. Merry has followed her passion for winemaking for 35 years, and in that time, she has become one of America’s pioneering Pinot Noir producers. While researching food science at Berkeley, Edwards became fascinated by yeast—it was these studies that led her from bread, then to beer, and finally, to the creation of wine. After deciding to pursue winemaking as a career, she helped develop Mount Eden as a legendary Pinot Noir producer, and eventually she began her own winery in Sonoma. Merry has been instrumental in California in refining clonal selection (perhaps you can ask her about this on Wednesday), a method of identifying exactly which vines should be selected from a vineyard and propagated. She even taught the first seminar at UC Davis on the subject, one that is often discussed among Pinot Noir growers. We are so excited to be able to pour her rare wines all hailing from the fabulous Russian River Valley. Generally, these wines are never seen at retail, but on this night we can offer all of them for sale while supplies last. It is a rare opportunity to buy these wonderful wines if you are not on their coveted mailing list.

We know you will enjoy meeting this energetic and knowledgeable Estate Sommelier and we know you will thoroughly enjoy this opportunity to taste some of the best wines of the Russian River Valley. So come join us and help us welcome Brendan Tierney to the Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant.

The featured wines are served as two ounce glasses.  These wines will be available for retail sale while supplies last....

The cost of the flight will be $30 and will include the following wines:
