Hirsch Vineyards Terroir Component Tasting at the Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant

An Evening Examining the Dynamic Terroir and Various Components that make up the Hirsch Vineyards and its Wines.

David’s goal was always to focus on the site, and Hirsch Winery was set up in 2002 to learn more about the site that was supplying fruit to some of California’s top Pinot Noir producers. At Hirsch Winery, winemaking practices are guided by close attention to individual sites and tasting the wines from individual blocks (unblended until bottling).

Join Jasmine Hirsch and winemaker Ross Cobb along with Master Sommelier Peter Granoff as they explore the dynamic terroir and various components that make up the Hirsch Vineyards and its wines. We will begin by tasting Hirsch Estate wines from the 2008 vintage. Then, to learn more about the various components from the Hirsch Vineyard, we will taste 2007 barrel samples form four different vineyard blocks. Finally, we will conclude our tasting with four 2007 Pinot Noirs from some of California’s top producers that have helped put Hirsch Vineyards on the map.
